The Begger and The Beautiful
A Post Pentecost Production
Acts 3:
3 Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service.
2 As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple.
3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money.
4 Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!”
5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money.
6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”
7 Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened.
8 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.
9 All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God.
10 When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!
11 They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John.
#1 Don’t Just Look At The Beautiful, Live In The Beautiful!
Once upon a time there was a man who was born crippled, surrounded by a group of individuals who would on a daily basis place him in front of a gate that led to the temple, a gate called beautiful.
First, don’t tell me you can’t relate.
Don’t tell me you’ve never been in a place where you needed your friends to carry you from one place to another.
Don’t act like you’ve never been here.
Maybe not financially but what about spiritually, what about emotionally what about relationally?
Don’t tell me you’ve never had a chapter in your life where you needed some people around you to carry you from one place to another.
You depended on others to make it.
How many are grateful for the people that carried you?
How many are grateful for the people that prayed for you?
How many are grateful for the people that spoke into you?
Yet due to his condition, this crippled man could not go into the temple.
This crippled man, on a daily basis lived before something beautiful but never stepped in.
He lived seeing other people step into the Temple, according to tradition and mosaic law, God’s presence.
He was crippled in front of something beautiful.
He was crippled in front of something beautiful.
Tradition said if you are crippled you can’t go in.
Culture said if you are crippled you can’t go in.
In essence, your condition determines your position.
But praise be to God, close to 2000 years ago, Jesus shed his blood and resurrected granting all of us; the crippled, the hurting, the weak, the poor, the marginalized, the imperfect, the sinner, the broken, through the blood of Jesus, we all have access to the beautiful presence of Almighty God.
It’s no longer my condition that determines my position.
It’s his forgiveness that determines my position.
It’s his grace that determines by position.
It’s his mercy that determines my position.
It’s God’s love that determines my position.
I am where I am because of the great I AM!
When you are born again, God’s presence lives in you so you can live in God’s presence.
When you are born again you don’t live outside the gate, you live inside his presence.
When you are born again, you don’t just look at the temple, you are the temple. 1 Corinthians 3:16
When you were born again the following biblical truths, truly come to life;
The one thing I ask of the LORD–the thing I seek most–is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.
Psalm 27:4

A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. Psalm 84:10

That times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.
In the presence of God there is joy
In the presence of God there is rest.
In the presence of God you is a refresh.
The presence of God changes everything.
I’ve been in the presence George W. Bush.
I’ve been in the presence of Barack Obama.
I’ve been in the presence of Donald Trump.
I’ve been in the presence of Pope Francis.
But nothing compares to the presence of God!
Some of you are just like this lame man.
You find yourself looking at something beautiful but never stepping into it.
You find yourself crippled by your condition and by your surroundings.
You find yourself handicapped by what you were born with and crippled by what’s been created around you.
But I’m here to tell you, get ready.
Your season of looking and not stepping into comes to an end right here, right now.
You’re not going to look at the gate called beautiful, you going to step into beautiful things.
I am here to declare it’s a season of beautiful things.
I prayerfully believe and declare that you are about to step into the beautiful!
You’re about to go from being on the outside looking in, to living in the inside blessing out.
You are about to go from broken to beautiful!
Beautiful grace.
Beautiful holiness.
Beautiful mind.
Beautiful faith.
Beautiful health.
Beautiful relationships.
Don’t just look at the beautiful, live in the beautiful!
Do not just live looking at God’s beautiful presence, live in God’s beautiful presence.

God is attracted to impossible circumstances.
Show him a barren womb,
Show him a closed door,
Show him a broken heart,
Show him a shattered dream,
Show him a bad medical report,
Show him an empty bank account,
Show him a dysfunctional family,
Show him a world coming out of a global pandemic, and get ready for one thing;
God to show up!
For nothing is impossible with God. Luke 1:37
The word of God will never fail! Luke 1:37

There’s not an executive order, a Supreme Court decision, a legislative initiative, a law, or a social media campaign that has the power to stop the Holy Spirit from moving upon the face of the earth. Nothing can stop God’s Spirit! #REVIVAL2021
You can’t cancel the Holy Spirit.
You can’t deplatform the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit cannot be stopped!
#2 Don’t Just Focus on Your Wants, First Focus on Your Needs!
3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls;
This is the story of a one-man interacting with two sets of people.
This is actually a story between two groups of people that surround us.
There is a group of people who will give us what we want and there is a group of people who will give us what we need.
He wanted money, but he needed healing.
He wanted a temporary fix but he needed a permanent solution.
He wanted reinforcement of his now but he needed a revelation for his next.
These two groups represent a choice.
A choice between a temporary blessing or a permanent breakthrough.
A choice between a touch or transformation.
A choice between make me comfortable or change me.
A choice between surviving outside the gate or thriving in the temple.
You are who surrounds you!
His non-Christian friends seem to be acting out of compassion.
The Christian brothers primarily acted out of conviction.
Compassion without conviction can lead to control.
But when conviction is delivered with compassion that leads to change.
Surround yourself with people that help you address your needs and not just accommodate your wants.
Surround yourself with people that will tell you what God has to say, not just what you want to hear.
Surround yourself with people that ignite your faith not just validate your feelings.
Surround yourself with people that help create an atmosphere for your anointing.
Surround yourself with people that will not permit you to live outside the gate.
Surround yourself with people that love you enough to tell you “Stop begging, start believing!”
Do not grant everyone access to your prayers.
Do not grant everyone access to your dreams.
Do not grant everyone access to your wounds.
Access should be limited to people of integrity who can handle both the blessed and the broken you.
Vulnerability in the presence of God leads to victory.
Vulnerability in front of the wrong people can lead to captivity.
#3 Don’t Just Pray About It, Act On It!
4 Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!”
5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money.
6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene,[a] get up and[b] walk!”
Look at us!
Let me have your undivided attention.
You’re looking for something in my hand.
I want you to look at what’s in my heart.
My character is my currency.
Look at us!
Look at our testimony!
Wait a moment! Who said look at us?
It was Peter. It wasn’t John the beloved.
It was Peter.
Peter said look at us.
Do you know who I am?
I shouldn’t even be here?
Look at me because the same God who did it for me is about to do it for you.
Look at me.
I was a fisherman who encountered Jesus, he called me out.
I walked him, ate with him, ministered with him for 3 1/2 years.
I saw him walk on water.
I saw them change water into wine.
Look at me.
I walked with him and yet I denied them three times.
I went back to my old job.
I saw him die.
But one day as I was in my old job I heard a voice from the shoreline that called me by name Peter do you love me.
Look at me.
I know what it is to be broken.
I know what it is to live in failure.
I know what it is to be on the outside looking in.
Look at me.
Because what Jesus did it for me, he’s about to do it for you.
Look what the Lord has done!
Galatians 2:20
*In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”
Why in that name, why that phrase?
Because there exist no other phrase,
Because these are most powerful words ever ordained to shift the atmosphere and unleash heaven.
John 14
12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!
There is a name that shifts the atmosphere!
There is a name that sets the captive free!
There is a name that prompts sickness to flee and healing to arrive.
There is a name that prompts every devil and demon to surrender.
There is a name the opens doors!
There is a name that activates overflow!
If we lift up that name!
THAT NAME!
Not our name!
Not our brand!
Not our label!
Not our hashtag!
But that name!
All things are possible!
I have enough for the both of us!
7 Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened.
He told him and he also helped him.
Sometimes the lame around us need us not just to preach but to help them walk it out!
You may have spoken into it now it’s time to help them UP!
Don’t just pray, ACT!
Don’t just pray about it, act on it!
That’s faith!
Wait one moment!
Did this crippled man exhibit any faith at all? None.
Did this crippled man stretch out his hand for Peter to pick him up? No.
It was the other way around.
Peter had enough faith for himself and for the condition and situation.
Peter had enough faith not just for himself but for this man’s to experience breakthrough.
So next time you say I pray that my children have faith to come to church.
I pray that my husband gets faith to change his life around.
If they are crippled, if they are spiritually mentally emotionally handicappedIt’s not about the faith they lack, it’s about the faith you have.
They don’t need faith to come to church you need faith for them to come to church.
They don’t need faith to be healed.
You need faith for them to be healed.
When it comes to the nonbeliever, it’s your faith that’ll get them out of their condition.
It’s actually the faith of Jesus operating in you with you and through you through the power of the Holy Spirit
When you have the faith in Christ and the faith of Christ you have enough faith not just a pray about it but to act on it.
Once again, when you have the faith of Jesus in you coming out of your words, you just don’t pray about it you act on it.
You dare tell that person get up and walk.
I have enough faith to declare that you and your children and your children’s children and your children’s children’s children will never be outside the gate again.
I have enough faith to declare that you and your family and your friends and your followers will never be caught begging outside the gate. Psalm 37 verse 25.
I have enough faith to look at you right now and tell you get up.
Get up and live out your dream.
Get up and live holy.
Get up and be healed.
Get up and be free.
Get up and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Get up and live out your calling.
Your family is just one push away.
One touch away.
One seed away.
One hug away.
From Lame to Leap!
8 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.
He went in!
He was no longer on the outside begging.
He was in the inside praising!
In Acts 1, Jesus tells his disciples to wait.
In Acts 2, the same disciples experienced a suddenly.
Waiting and suddenly are part of the same faith continuum.
Their does not exist two lines.
There is not a line for people that wait and one for those that experience a suddenly.
From Genesis to Revelation the same people that experienced a suddenly were the same identical people that were willing to wait.
If you have been waiting then get ready, the next thing you are about to experience is a glorious, life changing, Christ exalting, Spirit empowered suddenly.
Suddenly your family will be saved.
Suddenly you will be healed.
Suddenly you will experience breakthrough.
Suddenly your testimony leads many to Christ. #waitingthensuddenly
9 All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. 10 When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!
Third group in your life; those that see you inside and are ASTOUNDED!

But last time we saw you…group.
But the last time we saw you..set.
We thought you were going to live there, die there… but here you are!!!!

Your praise is proof that you’re still alive.
Your struggle is proof that something awesome is coming your way.
Your testimony is proof that the devil is a liar.
Your life is proof that there is still power in the name of Jesus and that his blood still washes sins away.

Hold on Tight!
11 They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John.
He held on tight to what just set him free.
He held on tight to what facilitated his miracle.
He held on tight because in order not to fall when they carried him he would do what? Hold on tight!
That’s a good thing.
People that learn to hold on tight cannot fall!
TYN: Hold On!
It may be hot but HOLD ON!
It may storming but HOLD ON!
When a person recently experiences a breakthrough they should surround him selves with the facilitate of mediums by which the Breakthrough took place.
When people converted into the kingdom we just can’t say you’re on your road.
The first few weeks months and days and even first three years are critical. We must be around them just in case they wanna hold on tight.
Even when you can’t hold on, God holds on to you!
You are not where you are.
You are not how you are.
You are not what others did to you.
You are not what you did to yourself.
You are who God says you are.
You are what God says you are.
It’s not about where you are in life, it’s about who you are in Christ.
When you know WHO you are in Christ, you will never be held back by WHERE you are in life! #InHim
Your identity in Christ will bring an end to your captivity in life!
Today is that day!
It’s time!
It’s time to become WHO YOU ALREADY ARE!
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
